Temperature and Best Season
The climate can broadly be described as tropical, with the exception of the Himalaya.
The Subcontinent has four seasons:

  • Winter- from December to February
  • Summer- from March to June
  • Monsoon- from July to September
  • Autumn- October and November

The best time to visit the north is between October and March; temperatures are pleasant, the days dry and sunny. From December through to mid-January early morning fog in and around Delhi can disrupt travel plans with flights often delayed or sometimes cancelled. Night temperatures in Rajasthan and the plains often reach freezing point during the winter and it can be chilly before sunrise. April through to August is hot. Early summer is good for wildlife viewing, the parks are free of visitors, vegetation is dry and game easily spotted.

Arrival at Delhi International Airport. On arrival in New Delhi, you will meet our Company representative at the International Airport.

Private Assistance with our company representative:- Please keep a watch for him as soon as you are done with collecting your luggage. Walk towards the exit gate in the arrival terminal. (we request you not to leave the terminal building until the representative contacts you. Assistance and transfer by car to the hotel where room is reserved for immediate check-in.

Delhi: - Delhi has been the capital of several ancient and medieval Empires. Founded on the banks of the Yamuna River, the history of Delhi city can be traced back to over 3000 years. Indraprastha according to legends was the old Capital of Delhi and founded by the Pandavas in the times of the Mahabharata 1500 B.C. and was located near the Old Fort. Today the city is a unique blend of Old and New which is very evident in the two parts - Old Delhi and New Delhi, the latter mainly built by the British. Stay overnight at the Hotel.

Visiting the attractions of Delhi

After breakfast, you will visit in New Delhi the Qutub Complex. The site will transport you back in time to the beginning of Islamic rule in Delhi. From there, you can drive to British Delhi, to take in the monuments now synonymous with independent India - the President-s House, Parliament House and India Gate.

After a lunch break, you will be visiting in Old Delhi the Red Fort, erected by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1638 of the Mughal Dynasty. You will come across Jama Masjid. Located opposite to the Red Fort, the mosque was also constructed by Shah Jahan and is the largest in India. After that we recommend you try our popular Bazaar Walk in Old Delhi, which takes you to the bustling and interesting Chandni Chowk area. Enjoy an exceptional experience of Cycle rickshaw ride from Jama Masjid to Chandni Chowk. Overnight stay will be at Hotel.

Delhi – Varanasi

Ganga River At Varanasi

After breakfast at Hotel, you will be transferred by our company representative to the Airport to catch the flight to Varanasi. Reach at Varanasi. Our company representative will meet you and transfer you to the Hotel where room is reserved for you.

Varanasi is one of the ancient living cities in the world. Its origin can be traced back to about 3000 years back. It is one among the 7 holiest cities of Hindus. It was a flourishing trading centre 500 BC when the Buddha came to Sarnath to preach his first sermon. It was a city of great wealth and religious importance when the Chinese traveller, Hiuen Tsang, visited it in the 7th century. Here, you will be paying visit to the Vishwanath Golden Temple, the abode of great God Shiva, Durga Temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir, Bharat Mata Temple and Banaras Hindu University.

Proceed for the sightseeing of Varanasi with an experienced guide.
In the afternoon, you will visit Sarnath which is 7 km from the city. You will come across a site where Buddha taught his first sermon more than 2500 years ago. Overnight stay will be at Hotel.

Delhi – Agra
Days 4
Taj Mahal Agra

After breakfast at Hotel, we will transfer you to Agra by road immediately. Drive will continue for about 5 hours.

On arrival in Agra, you will be received by our company representative at the hotel. He will assist you in check-in at the hotel and provide you with the schedule for the sightseeing.

You will proceed for the sightseeing of Agra city. First you will visit The Taj Mahal which is best enjoyed at dawn, when the first rays of the sun light up the marble beautifully. Going at dawn is also a good way to beat the heat and the crowds. Agra Fort is another interesting site. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We also recommend a photo-stop at Emperor Akbar-s mausoleum in Sikandra. Itmadullahs Tomb is also referred to as the Baby Taj Mahal. It was built in 1622-26 Ad by Nur Jahan the wife of Jahangir in memory of her father Ghias-ud-Din-Beg. From Itmadullah-s Tomb - a wonderful view of the River and the public laundry can be enjoyed. Overnight stay will be at Hotel.

Agra – Bharatpur – Ranthambhore
Days 5
Fatehpur Sikri

 After breakfast at Hotel, our company representative will transfer you to the Railway Station to board a Train to Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambhore). En route, you will visit Fatehpur-Sikri.

Fatehpur Sikri: It is the deserted, sandstone city. Emperor Akbar built it as his capital and palace in the late 16th century. It a veritable fairytale city and its -ruins- are in pristine conditions.

On arrival in Ranthambhore, you will meet our company representative at the hotel. He will assist you in check-in process and provide you with the Evening Safari.

Ranthambhore National Park:- Ranthambore is a national park and tiger reserve in Rajasthan, India. It is located in Sawai Madhopur district of south-eastern Rajasthan, about 130 km from Jaipur, which is also the nearest airport. The nearest town and railway station is at Sawai Madhopur, 11 km away. The park is located on the fringes of a plateau. It is encircled by the Banas River to the north and by the Chambal River to the south. There are several lakes in the park. It is named for the historic Ranthambore fortress, which lies within the national park. The park extends over an area of 392 km. It is famous for its tiger population, and is one of Indias Project Tiger reserves. You can also see leopard, dhole, wild pig, sambar, chital and the gaur here.

In the evening, you will proceed for the evening Safari. Overnight stay will be at the Resort.

Days 6

 You have full day game viewing inside the jungle (two safaris - morning and evening).

Ranthambhore – Jaipur
Days 7
Jaipur City Palace

After breakfast at Hotel, you will resume your drive to Jaipur. On arrival in Jaipur, you will meet our company representative at the hotel. He will assist you in check-in and provide you with the schedule for the sightseeing.

Jaipur:- The origin of the Jaipur city dates back to the eighteenth century, when Jai Singh II has ascended the Amber throne in 1699. Jaipur today, reflects the true spirit of Rajputana.  In-spite of growing into a bustling metropolis, it still retains its character and history - A beautiful fusion of the yesteryears and modernity. Popularly known as the Pink City, because of the extensive use of the locally abundant pink plastered stone, Jaipur is vastly visited for its forts, palaces, temples and gardens.

Overnight stay will be at Hotel.

Days 8
Hawa Mahal

After breakfast, you will visit Amber Fort. The Amber Fort is located in the picturesque and craggy hills. The fort is a fascinating blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. The fort is made of red sand stone and white marble. Enjoy Elephant Safari here. In afternoon, you will pay a visit to the City palace, which is located in the heart of the walled city. Then, visit famous wonderful Jantar Mantar (the observatory) and Hawa Mahal.

Overnight stay will be at Hotel.

Jaipur – Nimaj
Days 9

After breakfast at Hotel, drive to Nimaj. After you reach, you will be transferred to the Nimaj Camp.

Nimaj:- Chhatra Sagar consists of nine traditional Rajasthani tents. It is cuddled on a dam, which is about one hundred year old. Each tent is beautifully designed with its own en-suite bathroom and sitting area overlooking a breathtaking lake. The camp is situated in the hunting preserve of the Nimaj estate and run by the local ruling family. It is a truly peaceful place to relax after visiting the bustling Indian cities.

Overnight stay will be at the Resort.

Nimaj - Jodhpur
Days 10
Jodhpur Fort

After breakfast at Hotel, you will leave for Jodhpur city by surface. Approximately it will be 5 hours long drive. On arrival in Jodhpur, our company representative will receive you and immediately transfer you to the Hotel to check-in. He will furnish you with the sightseeing schedule.

Jodhpur:- Set at the edge of the Thar Desert, the imperial city of Jodhpur echoes with tales of antiquity in the emptiness of the desert. Once the capital of the Marwar state, it was founded in 1459 AD by Rao Jodha-chief of the Rathore clan of Rajputs who claimed to be descendants of Rama - the epic hero of the Ramayana. The invincible 15th century AD Mehrangarh Fort is located the top of a rocky hill, towering about 125 meters above the plains. The city is encompassed by a high wall -10 km long with 8 gates and innumerable bastions.

Relax in the hotel and visit the museum of UMAID BHAWAN PALACE. Overnight stay will be at Hotel.

Days 11
Mehrangarh Fort

Morning go for a village safari in the jeep and have a rare glimpse into the rich culture and true essence of India. Enjoy the abundance of wildlife and fascinating desert landscape while moving along the countryside.

Afternoon is scheduled for the sightseeing of Jodhpur - gateway to the desert beyond, home of the Rathors of Marwar. Here, you will visit the Mehrangarh Fort that emerges from a hilly scarp. It was built on the advice of a hermit.  Inside the Fort are a number of palaces added by successive rulers. In this palace you would see different miniature paintings & cradle room. After this, you would visit Jaswant Thada Memorial.

Overnight stay will be at Hotel.

Jodhpur - Ranakpur – Udaipur
Days 12

After breakfast at the Hotel, you will travel to Udaipur by surface. Approximately 5 hours drive it will be. En-rote, you will visit Ranakpur Temple.

Ranakpur in the state of Rajasthan is one of the five most important pilgrimage sites of Jainism. It is home to an exceptionally beautiful temple complex in the Aravali ranges and a must visit for the tourists coming to this region.

On arrival in Udaipur, you will meet our company representative. He will immediately transfer you to the Hotel to check-in at the Hotel. He will also give you the schedule for the sightseeing.

Udaipur:- Referred to as the "city of lakes", Udaipur has become a popular tourist destination in Rajasthan. It was built by Maharana Udai Singh on the advice of a hermit and floats like a dream beside the Pichola Lake. Stay overnight at the Hotel.

Days 13
Jaipur City Palace

After breakfast at Hotel, you will go for sightseeing accompanies by an experienced English speaking guide.

Udaipur has always been described as a romantic city that simply mesmerizes everyone. Visit some of the enchanting attractions of Udaipur. See the City Palace, Lake Pichola, Saheliyon ki Bari and Jagdish Temple and so on.

Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Udaipur - Delhi – Home
Days 14

After breakfast at Hotel, our company representative will transfer you to the Airport for the flight to Delhi. You will reach Delhi airport again to board the flight to next destination. Please allow a minimum of 2 hours for flight check-in formalities at the airport. We wish you a safe and pleasant journey home on behalf of Castle & King Team!

But the worlds a big place and you have to try new adventures too.  Were off to Vietnam for a 2 week tour in April. Question: General health advice
Answer: Vaccinations are not required when you travel in India; however anti malaria medication is strongly recommended. If you have visited or transited a yellow fever area ten days prior to your scheduled trip to India a yellow fever inoculation certificate will be mandatory.
