Temperature and Best Season
The climate can broadly be described as tropical, with the exception of the Himalaya.
The Subcontinent has four seasons:

  • Winter- from December to February
  • Summer- from March to June
  • Monsoon- from July to September
  • Autumn- October and November

The best time to visit the north is between October and March; temperatures are pleasant, the days dry and sunny. From December through to mid-January early morning fog in and around Delhi can disrupt travel plans with flights often delayed or sometimes cancelled. Night temperatures in Rajasthan and the plains often reach freezing point during the winter and it can be chilly before sunrise. April through to August is hot. Early summer is good for wildlife viewing, the parks are free of visitors, vegetation is dry and game easily spotted.

Barkhor Street Lhasa

Lhasa airport picking up, You are warmly welcome to Tibet by saying Tashi Delek at airport transfer you to reserved hotel in Lhasa. Then have a good rest to acclimatize the high altitude in the afternoon.










Lhasa - Jokhang - Barkhor - Sera Monastery
Days 2
Jokhang Temple

In the morning, you will visit the holist temple in Tibet, the Johkang Temple, built during songtsen gonpo`s reign by princess wencheng of tang dynasty, 647 A.D, and its famous Barkor Kora, where you can buy or appreciate traditional Tibetan artifacts, religious implements, antiques, books, Tibetan music instrument, Thangkas, and tradition tibetan clothes etc. you will have chance to get close to appreciate how the artists draw Thangkas at the Thakangka workroom at Barkor.
In the afternoon, after having lunch and a break in your hotel, you will visit the Sera Monastery, which was founded in 1419 by Tsongkapa`s disciple Jamchen Choeje. The most attractive is that Monks debiting is held there in the courtyard at around 5-6:30 in the afternoon section most of the time.



Lhasa Sightseeing: Potala Palace
Days 3
Tsedang Sighiseeing

Morning section to visit the famous Potala palace and explore the grandest of this myriad chapels, you will experience its audience halls, the jeweled and Golden burial chortens(stupa Tombs) of past Dalai Lamas, and tremendous number of Buddhist frescoes, thangkas, combinations of mandala etc.

The rest of today is your free time; you can travel around the city by yourself or get into the roadside Tibetan souvenir workshops to pick up your favorite stuff. or you join in one of our two free activities to enjoy the time, one is free Tibetan afternoon tea in local tea house and visiting Dikey Orphanage nearby, the another is visiting the Tibet Museum. the driver and tour guide will take you to one of the two places but you need to get back to hotel by yourself.



Lhasa-Yamdrotso lake-Gyangtse-Shigatse
Days 4
Kumbum Gyantse

Passing by the green farmland of Nyangchu Valley, Yamdro-tso lakes, karo-la glacier roadside at 4960m, We move westwards to the second biggest city Shigatse, the Area spiritually hosted by Pamchan Lama. The most important attraction for today is Yamdro-tso Lake and Kubum monastery in Gyantse. Yamdro-tso Lake is shaped like coiling scorpion with deep blue in colour and Kubum monastery has a 35m-high chorten (stupa) with its white layers trimmed with decorative stripes and its crown-like golden dome.







Shigatse-Lhatse-Tingri-Rongphu Monastery
Days 5
Shigaste

Drive westwards the Friendship way to Tingri. There is about 90km bumpy road from Tingri to Rongpuk, road is under construction. From Tingri to E.B.C with the very rough road, pass the wild grassland, cross the rapids river and high mountains. If it is in clear whether, you can have a glimpse of 4 mountains which is 8000m high or more, such as: Mt. Lhotse(8516m),Mt. Everest(8848m), Mt. Qowowuyag(8201m),Mt Mayalu(8463m).









Rongphu Monastery - Lhatse
Days 6
Everest Base Camp

Early in the moring to see the sunrise from Rongphu then to view Mt. Everest. It is fabulous and splendid.After walking arrive the place get on the local bus then use half of an hour arrive at Everest Base camp (Or you also can trekking to Base Camp around 1.5-2 hours one way. It`s interesting and much warmer, but hard to breath). Hiking up to the top of the photo point to take pictures of the splendid- Mt. Everest. Then in the afternoon go down from E.B.C back to Tingri by friend-ship highway back to Lhatse
We choose Lhatse to stay because Lhatse is 190km (about 7 hours driving) from Rongpuk, hence you will have enough time to explore the Mt.Everest area in the morning. we leave Rongpuk for Lhatse after lunch





Lhatse - Lhasa
Days 7
Shigaste Tibet

Before spending about 4 hours to drive back to Lhasa from Shigatse, we will visit the largest Monastery in west Tibet, the Tashilunpo monastery, as the last but famous historic sites for your Tibet tour. Tashilunpo monastery is one of the the six great Gelukpa institutions and was founded in 1447 by a disciple of Tsongkapa, containing the world`s largest gilded copper image(26m high) of future god Jampa. Drive along the Friend-ship Highway back to Lhasa.

Question: Gratuities & Tipping Idea
Answer: This is entirely at your discretion. However, the following may be helpful. If service is not included in the bill, 10% is usually the accepted amount. Hotel and railway porters will expect about 50 rupees for one piece of luggage and about 200 rupees for a trolley full. At the end of your stay if you wish to tip your sightseeing guide and driver, an acceptable amount for the guide would be approximately between 400 500 rupees per day; and for the driver, it would be approximately between 200 400 rupees per day.
